General information
To travel to Uzbekistan a Visa is generally not required with a few exceptions.
Since October 5, 2018, citizens of the French Republic have benefited from a visa-free regime to enter Uzbekistan for a period of 30 days. The visa-free regime applies to holders of all categories of passports, who plan to travel to the Republic of Uzbekistan for a period of up to 30 days, regardless of the purpose of their trip.
However, for certain nationalities, length of stay in Uzbekistan, you will need to obtain either an eVisa or a Visa affixed in the passport in order to be able to enter Uzbek territory.

Do you need a Visa for Uzbekistan?
A visa waiver regime has been put in place for a stay of 30 days for citizens of the following countries:
Australia, Austria, Argentina, Andorra, Germany, Antigua and Barbuda, Barbados, Belize, Belgium, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Brazil, Canada, Costa Rica, Cuba, Croatia, Chile, Commonwealth of the Bahamas, Commonwealth of Dominica, Denmark, Spain, Estonia, El Salvador, State of Brunei Darussalam, United Arab Emirates, United Mexican States, Finland, France, Greece, Grenada, Guatemala, Honduras, Hungary, Israel, Indonesia, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Jamaica, Japan Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Latvia, Lithuania, Malaysia, Malta, Mongolia, Monaco, Montenegro, Norway, Nicaragua, New Zealand, Netherlands, Panama, Portugal, Poland, Republic of Cyprus, Republic of Korea, Dominican Republic, Romania, United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, Saint Lucia, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Serbia, Slovenia, Singapore, Slovakia, Sweden, Switzerland, San Marino, Turkey, Czechia , Trinidad and Tobago, Vatican.
Citizens of China (traveling in tourist groups), the United States and Vietnam aged over 55 are exempt from visa to enter Uzbekistan only for the purpose of tourism for a period of up to 30 days.
The visa-free regime applies to holders of all categories of passports, who plan to travel to the Republic of Uzbekistan for a period of up to 30 days, regardless of the purpose of their trip.
From March 1, 2021 a visa-free regime for a period of 10 days is in place for citizens of Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar and China, including the special administrative regions of Hong Kong and Macau, if they have plane tickets to their own or third countries.
Citizens of the following countries are eligible for the electronic visa, eVisa:
Algeria, Albania, Angola, Bangladesh, Bolivia, Bahrain (for more than 10 days), Cameroon, Cape Verde, Colombia, Ivory Coast, China (including Hong Kong) (for more than 10 days) ), Egypt, Ecuador, United States of America, Fiji, Ghana, Guyana, Uruguay, Gabon, Iran, India, Marshall Islands, Solomon Islands, Jordan, Kuwait (for more than 10 days), Kiribati, Mauritius, Macedonia, Maldives, Micronesia, Nauru, Nepal, Oman (for more than 10 days), Palau, Paraguay, Peru, Philippines, Qatar (for more than 10 days), Democratic People’s Republic of Korea, Kingdom of Bahrain, Kingdom of Bhutan, Kingdom of Cambodia, Kingdom of Morocco, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Kingdom of Thailand, Kingdom of Tonga, Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Lebanese Republic, Sri Lanka, Samoa, Seychelles, Senegal, Suriname, Tunisia, Vanuatu, Venezuela, Vietnam
Citizens of countries not subject to the visa-free and eVisa regime must obtain a Visa stamped in their passport. To obtain the Uzbekistan Visa (Business or Tourism), you can seek assistance from Visa Travel International, an approved agency for the Uzbek authorities.

Conditions of entry in Uzbekistan
The traveler must bring their passport valid for the duration of their stay, their Visa/eVisa if applicable and a return flight ticket.
There are currently no health restrictions for traveling to Uzbekistan.
All travelers staying longer than 72 hours in Uzbekistan must register and pay the tourist tax.
The tourist tax is due per person and per night (its amount varies around 50 cents/1 euro or perhaps a little more depending on the type of accommodation (hotel, furnished tourist accommodation, campsite, motorhome, tent, etc.) and depending on whether the accommodation is classified or not.
Registration is done by the hotels/by an individual in case you are staying with an individual/or by the travelers themselves with the registration service or via the website http://reg.emehmon.uz/ .
This registration must be carried out within 72 hours of your arrival. It must be renewed for each location where you will be accommodated.
During a tourist trip with a stop at a hotel/private person, remember to ensure that the establishment/individual carries out the check-in. Failure to register may result in a fine.
Understanding the Visa for Uzbekistan
The Visa is valid according to the duration chosen and the number of entries chosen when applying.
Documents to be provided: Visa Business
- An original signed passport valid for 6 months after the date of your return + a copy of the passport data page.
- An information form completed and returned to VTI.
- A recent color ID photo on a light background (less than 6 months old), format 3.5 x 4.5 cm
- An official letter of invitation (telex) from your correspondent in Uzbekistan.
- A letter from your company specifying the contact details of your inviter in Uzbekistan, the reason and dates of your trip + commercial stamp and signature
- A copy of the residence permit for non-European people as well as proof of address for non-French people.

- An original signed passport valid for 6 months after the date of your return + a copy of the passport data page.
- An information form completed and returned to VTI.
- A recent color ID photo on a light background (less than 6 months old), format 3.5 x 4.5 cm
- Copy of your return flight ticket
