General information

To travel to Tunisia, if you are of French nationality, you generally do not need a Visa for a business or tourist stay not exceeding 90 days. However, certain requests may require a Visa, particularly depending on your nationality or dual nationality.

Do you need a Visa for Tunisia?

If you have a French passport, you do not need a Visa to enter Tunisia (stay of less than three months).

If you wish to stay beyond three months, you will need to apply to the Tunisian Ministry of the Interior to obtain a visa and a residence permit.

Conditions of entry in Tunisia

A valid passport is required. A valid national identity card, accompanied by the travel book issued by your travel agency, is accepted.

French nationals who also have Tunisian nationality must present:

          * a valid Tunisian passport upon entry and exit from Tunisia

          * a valid French document (passport or national identity card) during police formalities when entering or leaving France

Understanding the Visa for Tunisia

The Visa for Tunisia is valid from its date of issue for a maximum period of 90 days.

Documents to be provided: Visa Business

  • An original signed passport valid for 6 months after the date of your return + a copy/scan of the passport data page.
  • A completed and signed form.

  •  Two recent color ID photos on a light background

  •  An invitation letter from your correspondent inviting you to Tunisia.

  •  A mission letter from your company

  •  A copy/scan (front/back) of the residence permit for non-European people as well as proof of address for non-French people.

Documents to be provided: Visa Tourism

  • An original signed passport valid for 6 months after the date of your return + copy of the passport data page.
  • A completed and signed form.
  • Two recent color ID photos on a light background.
  • Confirmation of your hotel reservation (on hotel letterhead, signed and stamped).
  • A copy (recto/verso) of the residence permit for non European people as well as proof of address for non-French people.
