General information
To travel to Namibia a visa is generally required with a few exceptions.
Nationals of the following countries are exempt from Tourism visa requirements (for a stay not exceeding 90 days):
South Africa, Germany, Angola, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Belarus, Botswana, Brazil, Canada, Cuba, Denmark, Spain, Finland, France, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, Lesotho, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malawi, Malaysia, Mauritius, Moldova, Mozambique, Norway, New Zealand, Uzbekistan, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Swaziland, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, USA , Zambia and Zimbabwe.
NB: this Visa exemption currently granted by Namibia to citizens of 31 countries, including France, Belgium, Switzerland and Canada, ends on March 31st, 2025. An entry eVisa (approximately €85) will be compulsory from April 1st, 2025 and will allow you to obtain a Visa on arrival in Namibia.
Citizens of non-African Union countries remain Visa exempt.

Do you need a Visa for Namibia?
For a business trip, a Work eVisa (obtained before departure) is required. It will have a short stay duration (1 to 3 months or 1 to 6 months) and must be obtained before your departure.

A Tourist/Holiday trip to Namibia does not require a visa application for nationals of the following countries (for a stay of less than 90 days):
Angola, Armenia, Australia, Austria, Azerbaijan, Belgium, Belarus, Botswana, Brazil, Canada, Cuba, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Kazakhstan, Kenya, Kyrgyzstan, South Africa, Lesotho, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malawi, Malaysia, Mauritius, Moldova, Mozambique, Norway, New Zealand, Uzbekistan, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Swaziland, Sweden, Switzerland, Tajikistan, Tanzania, Turkmenistan, Ukraine, USA , Zambia and Zimbabwe.
A maximum 90-day residence permit will be obtained upon arrival.

Conditions of entry in Namibia
To be able to enter the territory of Namibia the traveller must bring his passport with a minimum validity of six months after the date of return and comprising at least one blank page, his eVisa if applicable as well as a return flight ticket.
Understanding the Visa for Namibia
The eVisa is valid for 1 to 3 months or 1 to 6 months from the date of issue for a stay of 30 days per stay.
Documents to be provided: eVisa Work (Business)
- Certified copy of passport (signed and valid for at least 6 months)
- A form duly completed and returned to contact@visatravel.fr
- Certified copies of diplomas (must be translated into English / Visa Travel International can propose to you this translation)
- Cover letter from employer explaining the purpose of the job and why Namibians cannot be employed
- Proof/scan of tender/awarded contract
- If you are in the Media:
- The filming request must be accompanied by a filming permit issued by the Namibia Film Commission
- Media requests must be accompanied by a letter of accreditation from the Ministry of Information and Communication Technologies
- The tour operator’s application must be accompanied by a Namibia Tourism Authority certificate issued by the Ministry of Environment and Tourism
- The original criminal record from the country of origin (must be translated into English, applicable for applications older than 3 months / Visa Travel International can propose to you this translation)
- If you are applying for a period of more than 3 months, the radiological report and medical certificate form must be completed and sent to contact@visatravel.fr
- Complete, sign and return the power of attorney to contact@visatravel.fr
Documents to be provided: eVisa Holidays (Tourism)
- Certified true copies (town hall) of the passport of the country of origin
- Complete the visa application form (each applicant, including minors, must complete a separate visa application form) and return it to contact@visatravel.fr
- If you are invited:
* Invitation letter from the inviter
* Deed of guarantee form signed by the inviter* Six (6) month bank statement of the inviter
* Current inviter status
- Scan of a confirmed return flight ticket
- If through a travel agency, Cover letter from the travel agency or the traveler
- Scan of proof of accommodation (hotel/resident reservations)
- Scan of proof of financial statement (bank statement) at 6 months of the applicant
- Complete, sign and return the power of attorney to contact@visatravel.fr

When preparing your trip to Namibia, remember to check that the visa waiver that may apply to you is still relevant, both in relation to your nationality and in relation to the purpose of your trip.
Likewise, be careful of fraudulent websites that offer you to obtain your eVisa… after paying online, you risk never seeing your eVisa! Go through Visa Travel International… you will have your eVisa before your departure!
