General information

To travel to Kazakhstan, a visa is required with a few exceptions.

Nationals of the following countries are exempt from visa for a stay of less than 90 days: Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Armenia, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine. If the stay does not exceed 30 days: Serbia and Turkey.

Do you need a Visa for Kazakhstan?

Obtaining a visa before departure is mandatory to travel to Kazakhstan but it depends on your nationality, the duration of your stay and the reason of your visit.

Kazakhstan has reestablished the short-stay visa exemption regime for nationals of 54 countries, including France, since January 1, 2022. Tourism has been authorized since February 16, 2022.

Foreign nationals from these 54 countries can stay in Kazakhstan without a visa for up to 30 calendar days each visit. The number of visits is unlimited. However, the total duration of these visits must not exceed 90 calendar days in a 180-day period.

It should be noted that no visa is issued on arrival in the country. Therefore the traveler must imperatively make his request to the consular service of Kazakhstan in France before his departure.

Conditions of entry in Kazakhstan

To be able to enter the territory of Kazakhstan, the traveler must bring his passport with visa as well as a return plane ticket.

The results of a negative PCR test of less than 72 hours will also need to be delivered.

It should be noted that, even if the traveler is in possession of all the documents requested to validate his entry into Kazakhstan, the authorities of Kazakhstan reserve the right to refuse access to their territory without having to justify it.

Understanding the Visa for Kazakhstan

The visa is made according to the dates indicated on the voucher or invitation provided during the visa application.

It should be noted that multiple entry visas are ONLY for business travel.

Documents to be provided : Visa Business

  • Submitting the traveler’s fingerprints is now mandatory and can be done either when submitting the file or when collecting the passport with Visa. The presence of the traveler will therefore be obligatory and Visa Travel International will be able to support you in this process.

  •  An original, signed passport valid for at least 6 months + a photocopy of the passport data page

  • A form duly completed on the computer and printed on both sides
  • A front-face “identity” photo
  • An official invitation letter from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan
  • A letter from your company indicating the reason, the duration of the stay, the contact details of the correspondent and the payment of the costs of stay and travel
  • A copy of the residence permit as well as proof of address for non-French people

Documents to be provided: Visa Tourism

  • Submitting the traveler’s fingerprints is now mandatory and can be done either when submitting the file or when collecting the passport with Visa. The presence of the traveler will therefore be obligatory and Visa Travel International will be able to support you in this process.
