General information

To travel to Ethiopia a visa is generally required with a few exceptions.

Visa Travel International is an agency approved by the Ethiopian consulate to assist you in your procedures and whatever the type of visa you need.

Do you need a Visa for Ethiopia?

Obtaining a visa before departure is mandatory to travel to Ethiopia.

It should be noted that no visa is issued on arrival in the country. Therefore the traveler must imperatively make his request to the Ethiopian immigration service before his departure.

Conditions of entry in Ethiopia

To be able to enter the territory of Ethiopia, the traveler must bring his passport with visa as well as a return flight ticket.

It should be noted that, even if the traveler is in possession of all the documents requested to validate his entry into Ethiopia, the Ethiopian authorities reserve the right to refuse access to their territory without having to justify it.

Understanding the Visa for Ethiopia

The visa valid for 1 to 3 months from the date of departure indicated on the form.

Maximum length of stay: the visa is valid for a maximum of 1 month for a single entry visa and 3 months if the request is for a multiple entry visa.

Documents to be provided: Visa Business (eVisa)

 
  •  An original passport, signed and valid for at least 6 months + a photocopy of the passport data page.
  • A form duly completed on the computer and printed on both sides.
  • A front-face “identity” photo.
  • Immigration authorization: the company in Ethiopia must request this document from the Immigration Service who will then send it to the embassy. You must attach a copy to the file.
  • A letter from your company indicating the reason, the duration of the stay, the contact details of the correspondent and the covering of the costs of stay and travel.
  • A copy of the return flight ticket.
  • A copy of the residence permit as well as proof of address for non-French people.

Documents to be provided: Visa Tourism (eVisa)

 
  •  An original passport without an Israel visa or stamp, signed and valid for at least 6 months + a photocopy of the passport data page.
  • A duly completed and signed form.
  • A front-face “identity” photo.
  • A copy of the return flight ticket.
  • A copy of the hotel reservation or accommodation certificate + copy of the guest’s identity document.
  • A copy of the residency permit as well as proof of address for non-French people.

VTI’s advice for your trip to Ethiopia

Plan ahead! As part of a business trip, you must provide an Ethiopian immigration authorization to obtain your visa and it takes a long time to be issued. Do not even try to propose a file without this document, without this authorization the consulate does not have the right to issue you a visa!
